Did you read this story about Moses? A Jewish scholar who "of course" (in his opinion) doesn't believe anything supernatural occured with Moses. I must have been drugs! Has the world really become so foolish, so ignorant and so against God, that rather than just flat out rejecting Him, they placate themselves with this kind of comical absurdity? Notice the author used drugs and saw visions, so that MUST have been what happened to Moses! Original story here...Quote:Moses was high on drugs: Israeli researcher
High on Mount Sinai, Moses was on psychedelic drugs when he heard God deliver the Ten Commandments, an Israeli researcher claimed in a study published this week. Such mind-altering substances formed an integral part of the religious rites of Israelites in biblical times, Benny Shanon, a professor of cognitive psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem wrote in the Time and Mind journal of philosophy.
"As far Moses on Mount Sinai is concerned, it was either a supernatural cosmic event, which I don't believe, or a legend, which I don't believe either, or finally, and this is very probable, an event that joined Moses and the people of Israel under the effect of narcotics," Shanon told Israeli public radio on Tuesday.
Moses was probably also on drugs when he saw the "burning bush," suggested Shanon, who said he himself has dabbled with such substances.
"The Bible says people see sounds, and that is a clasic phenomenon," he said citing the example of religious ceremonies in the Amazon in which drugs are used that induce people to "see music."
He mentioned his own experience when he used ayahuasca, a powerful psychotropic plant, during a religious ceremony in Brazil's Amazon forest in 1991. "I experienced visions that had spiritual-religious connotations," Shanon said.
He said the psychedelic effects of ayahuasca were comparable to those produced by concoctions based on bark of the acacia tree, that is frequently mentioned in the Bible.

I don't usually pay any attention to stories like this because they are so far out. Suffice it to say that this man is nothing more than a charlatan. Any degrees he might have are made of drugs. Druggies vetting druggies. Christ-haters vetting Christ-haters. Israeli researcher of what? alternate reality? Too bad that some will read his thesis and believe it and maybe even propagate it.

What a joke !!! I agree, sadly there are those who will actually consider and/or believe this type of thing. The other thing that comes to mind is..."I REST MY CASE" http://www.simpletruth-simplyput.com

I use to roll my eyes when every miracle or Bible event was tried to explained by natural causes: ie., the burrn bushing was bright red flowers, and the parting of the Red Sea was a wind drying up a shallow area, and the Flood was local, etc. But the Moses on drugs thing was just flat out hilarious and shows the depth of stupidity man will go to in order to deny God.

Exactly Brent... Man thinking they are smarter than God. I do have a question that has boggled minds for centuries. How in the world did The Egyptian army become consumed and drown in the Red Sea in a matter of a few inches of wind dried crossing. ????? Ha ha http://www.simpletruth-simplyput.com

How in the world did The Egyptian army become consumed and drown in the Red Sea in a matter of a few inches of wind dried crossing. ????? Ha ha Why Gary, don't you know? During that time of the year when the wind dries up the low water area of the Red Sea, the combination of high humidity, the earth worm mating season, and the unusually low IQ of people who believe that nonsense conspire to create what appears to be a miraculous level of "hydra-terra" compound thus entrapping the Egyptian army. What has been transformed by legend over time to sound like God miraculously parted the Red SEA and saved the Israelites was really just a case of the Eyptians getting stuck in the hydra-terra... darn that mud. (FYI... for any new readers, please know that entire answer is complete sarcasm; a laugh at the foolish who try to explain away every miracle in the Bible)

Ya, it is a sickening story! but the enemy must take care of the entire spectrum of those who contiously reject the truth, and replace it with his "truth", see rejecting the bible is only the first step, after that there's something different for everyone but everyone must belive something (the devil does not care what as long it's not the bible) some belive that moses flat out lied to the people, some belive moses actualy had a UFO encounter, some belive that lightning stroke some bush, and what moses heard was just a thunder, there are countless versions of what happened on mt. horeb, but there is still that tiny part of the "spectrum" which does not care about any of those versions or the rest of the bible for that matter, but hey! moses on drugs! now that's cool, man!! -walter broda-

When we get to the point where we hear stories like Moses being on drugs, we have to remember that it all started back when we would allow people to explain away the burning bush is bright red flowers, or the parting of the Red Sea as a wind that dried out a shallow part of the water. Then we allow turning water into wine to be explained away. As soon as we allow the miracles of God to be explained by so-called scientific processes and we have opened the door to all sorts of silly and absurd explanations about what should be purely miraculous. It's not to say that God does not use nature or physics when doing the miraculous, but it is dangerous ground to allow the skeptical to continually present naturalistic explanations for what God is clearly intended to be miraculous.
