I have been married for 10 years without children yet. I have tried all I could both medically and otherwise and still it seems as if God does not answer prayers any more. I am really confused and do not know what to do again. I have a lot of Christian counselors but once another month passes, I feel terribly bad.

How can I handle this issue. Children seems to be the only that will make my husband happy though he has been good and trying to hide his disappointment.

Please help me.

I can think of a lot of things to say to this dear woman but this is not something that I have a lot of personal experience with. So I would rather turn to my readers who have either struggled with this issue themselves or have helped other people who have.

Please help me give some good practical advice and some soothing encouragement for not only this couple but the countless others out there who are struggling with the inability to bear children.

My husband and I were in the same place that you are. For some reason God didn't want us to have our own children. I had several miscarrages which is still hard to except. One of our pastors really helped me when he said that all children, even unborn children were in heaven with Jesus and I cling to that knowing that I will see my children some day. God, in His time, has given us a son to raise, even in our older years. My husband's niece didn't want her baby and gave him to us when we were 47/48. He is now 10 and we couldn't love him more if I gave birth to him. God gave us a love for him that was "unexplainable" even before he was born. I had totally given up having children and had never thought about adoption, thinking that I couldn't love an adopted child. But God sure had a different idea!! I always had a hard time getting close to children because it hurt so much, so I was totally amazed at the love that I had for this child that wasn't even born. I had a love for him like I was carrying him myself.
So please don't give up. Maybe God has something else in mind for you. He knows what is best for you. We just don't know what. By the way, our son's name is Samuel, because God gave us a son in our older years and he answered our prayers, just like Hannah.

I've been married for almost 6 years and my wife and I would like to have children. We're missionaries in Japan and are currently registered with a Christian adoption agency here. It's been a trial of sorts to come to terms with all that we have, but I admire my wife for her focus and trust that God will supply all of our needs according to His perfect timing. We know there are many folk in a similar position to us, however, most of our friends are expecting their first or second child at present. We realize that God deals with His children as individuals and we cannot compare our situation with others, thought it's tempting to do so.

I'd just say to others who may be facing similar circumstances that God does have a purpose in what you are going through, and although it may not seem like it at times, He is faithful and will answer your prayers, one way or another.

Yes God does have a purpose for all our trials even the very difficult trials that surround this very painful issue.
